Fly.Ylobe Ver 4.2 User's Guide
Fly.Ylobe v4.2 Release Date - 1 June 2025
Fly.Ylobe (Fly.Ylobe.com) is a CASA-verified drone safety web application that uses location-based maps to show where you can and can't fly drones in accordance with Australian aviation legislation. Local, state and territory government drone rules are not included, and users must check for locally applicable rules. The platform is also approved by CASA to provide Automatic Airspace Authorisation (AAA) on a trial basis for ReOCs.
Additionally, Fly.Ylobe offers a unique "Drone Pilots for Hire" feature, connecting Remote Pilots (RePLs) with Drone Operators (ReOCs).
How to Check Where You Can or Cannot Fly?
Select your user type from the menu at the bottom left of the screen and set your intended drone operation’s height (in metres AGL) and date & time.
Then, Click on the map where you intend to fly. A feature information window will appear with relevant rules and airspace conditions. Address or Latitude/Longitude search option is available.
Interpretation
- NO FLY – Means no drone operations are allowed. You must not fly.
- FLY WITH CAUTION – Means you can fly with conditions, as long as no “NO FLY” restriction overlaps.
- Require Authorisation – Means you are required to apply and obtain prior authorisation from authorities to fly at that location.
💡 Choosing the correct user type, height and date / time is crucial, as operational rules vary depending on the selected type, height and time. Fly.Ylobe supports the following user types:
- Micro – 250g or less (newly added in V4.2)
- Recreational
- Excluded RPA
- ReOC
Drone Operations Management
Fly.Ylobe provides end-to-end drone operations workflow and digital record-keeping. This feature requires registration and an active subscription.
ReOC Registration
- Click “Login” on the homepage and register as new user using a valid email or Google account.
- You must specify your user type during registration.
- If you’re a ReOC, register as “ReOC (Admin)”.
- If you’re both a ReOC and RePL and want to use a single email
- Register as ReOC first. (Login => Register)
- Fill in your Company (ReOC) details under the User Management tab and save. (Drone Operations Management =>User Management =>ReOC)
- Now, Click on Go Premium on home page and purchase a suitable plan. This will allow you to add RePLs as users. Seven (7) days free trial available.
- Then, Fill in your Pilot (RePL) details to add yourself as a remote pilot. (Drone Operations Management =>User Management =>RePL)
💡Email will be sent to RePL, to accept the invitation.
- Last step Designate yourself or one of your RePL as Chief Remote Pilot – Go to Pilot-List under User Management. Click on Remote Pilot button (3rd column from right) to turn it on. Text will change to Chief Pilot with yellow background.
💡 Alternatively email us. We will call back and we do it together.
RePL Registration
- Click “Login” on the homepage and register as new user using a valid email or Google account.
- If you’re a Remote Pilot, register as “RePL (User)”.
- Fill in your RePL details under the User Management tab and save.
Purchase a Plan (Only available for ReOC)
- Fill in your company (ReOC) details under the User Management tab, if you have not done it.
- Once completed, the “Go Premium” button becomes active.
- Choose a plan (e.g., Solo-Pro, Penta-Pro) and complete checkout via Stripe.
💡Use the same email ID at Stripe checkout that you used to register as ReOC.
- After checkout, close the browser and restart new session of Fly.Ylobe.
- To cancel or manage your plan, click “Go Premium / Subscribe” or email: fly.ylobe@yarradrones.co
User Management
- Under the User Management tab, ReOCs can add / view details of their ReOC or add remote pilots.
- ReOC must designate a Chief Pilot from exiting remote pilot list by clicking “Designate as Chief Pilot” – the button will turn yellow to confirm. Automated airspace authorisations cannot be applied for without designating a Chief Pilot, hence this is an important step.
- RePLs on Fly.Ylobe can independently register and fill-in Remote Pilot details in a form provided under user management tab and let their ReOC know to invite / add them. This way Fly.Ylobe provides autonomy for RePLs and their details / records are attached to their account and to the ReOC. We understand people change companies.
💡RePLs will appear on the map with their approximate location if they select "Yes" for independent pilot for hire during RePL registration. RePL may temporarily select "Yes" just for an ReOC sto invite. Once a ReoC send an invite (auto email goes with link) and the RePL accepts the invite, RePL is delisted for pilot for hire list and will start appearing in list of remote pilots of the ReOC. Our system does not constrain a RePL to work for multiple ReOC.
Equipment Management
Use the Equipment Management tab to:
- List drones, batteries, and other gear.
- Use “Record Battery Charge” to log charge cycles for each battery or battery set.
Operations Management
This module is workflow driven and allows users to plan their mission, complete assessments and send to CRP for internal approvals and also apply for automated airspace authorisations, where applicable.
- Start with Create Mission and fill in mission details.
- Draw flight plan. Check airspace overlay conflicts.
- Conduct Preliminary Assessments, JSAs, Risk Assessments. Prelim Assessment is mandatory.
- Submit plans for Chief Remote Pilot approval
- Log operation completion
Automated Airspace Authorisations (AAA) Trials
Fly.Ylobe is one of few platforms approved to provide airspace authorisations at participating controlled airports and SUAs in ongoing trials. This feature allows you to obtain authorisation immediately as long as your flight plan meets certain criteria – Height and RPA Category.
One-time manual validation is required before you can apply AAA:
- Email us your ReOC number and your Chief Remote Pilot’s ARN. We will get this verified by CASA.
- Allow up to 2 business days for manual validation.
Ones validated, you can apply for authorisation by yourself. Authorisations are automated and a response is received instantaneously. If you flight plan is not meeting the set criteria, you will be prompted to make changes to your flight plan (e.g heights, time etc.). Authorisation request will not be submitted by our server to casa server unless it meets preset criteria. You may still choose to apply for authorisation manually by paper, if your case is exceptional.
Please note that from Ver 4.2 onwards of Fly.Ylobe, GCD datasets are not loaded on workbench automatically. User must add GCD data manually prior to initiating drawing your flight plan. To add GCD dataset on workbench-
- Click “(+) Explore map data” at the top-left.
- Add the relevant GCD dataset (controlled airport or R405 area) to your workbench.
- If you already have one or more valid and active airspace authorisations, the corresponding GCD will load automatically.
AAA service is free for registered users with an active plan. There is no limit on number of authorisations you can apply in these ongoing trials by CASA. So, if you decide to not fly for whatever reason, you can cancel and reapply for another authorisation. You can-not renew the same authorisaiton.

"Drone Pilots for Hire" – How It Works
This feature allows RePLs to network with ReOCs (and eventually customers) and get invitations.
- RePL registration and listing are free for those with a valid Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and opt to select “Yes” for Independent Pilot for Hire.
- ReOCs can view available RePLs on the map and public list and send invitation (if their plan allows pilot additions).
🔁 RePLs will be automatically delisted when they accept a ReOC invite. If the ReOC releases them, they are re-listed again.
Use the Equipment Management tab to:
- List drones, batteries, and other gear.
- Use “Record Battery Charge” to log charge cycles for each battery or battery set.
